CONGRATULATIONS MATT McMANUS
BOMA ENGINEER OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Local 399 Chief Engineer Matt McManus who was honored as the BOMA Engineer of the Year at a ceremony held on January 28, 2010.  Matt has been a Local 399 Engineer since 1983 and began his career as a Chief Engineer in 1987.

Matt was nominated by Building Managers Katie Scott and Bill Vail of U.S. Equities because of his outstanding skill and relentless dedication to his craft and to his building. Matt's performance over the years exemplifies the dedication that Local 399 engineers bring to the workplace!

STATE OF ILLINOIS CLASS 3A
3-POINT SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP

Congratulations to Nora Masterson who recently took 3rd place in the State of Illinois Class 3A, 3-point Shooting Championship competition. Nora attends Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park and is the daughter of Business Representative Mike Masterson.

CONGRATULATIONS JOHN (JACK) KENNY


Congratulations to John (Jack) Kenny, who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on November 22, 2009.  Jack’s project was to raise funds and erect a flag pole and lay a Military Memorial brick garden at St. Stephens Church in Tinley Park.

The flag pole was dedicated on November 11, 2009. Jack is the son of Local 399 member Tom Kenny.  We salute Jack on this accomplishment and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

LOCAL 399 MEMBER RECEIVES WORDS OF PRAISE FROM MAYOR DALEY


Local 399 Chief Engineer Vasia Ivan recently met Mayor Richard Daley at the opening of the new Norwood Senior Center in Chicago.  During that meeting, Chicago Park District Board of Commissioners President Gary Chico told Mayor Daley that Vasia “had been with us for a while and is taking good care of this park”.  Mayor Daley responded to Vasia, “Good job son, keep up the good work!”  Vasia, we couldn’t agree more, and we thank you for the dedication you bring to the job.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH AWARD

LEED PLATINUM AWARD
FOR THEIR BUILDING!

Congratulations to the engneering team at
USAA Real Estate Company.  Chief Engineer
Ralph White and engineers Dan Urbanski and
Dan Nyhan played an interal role in helping
USAA achieve the world's first Platinum level
award for their specific category.  From operating
and building efficiency in order to gain an energy
star score of 95 to developing a cintinuous commissioning plan, they undertook every task
with great enthusiasm.

We congratulate you all on this achievement.
